1. Purpose<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The EABCT 2026 congress is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive<\/strong>, and welcoming<\/strong> atmosphere for all participants\u2014including attendees, speakers, volunteers, staff, exhibitors, and sponsors. This Code of Conduct outlines expected behaviors and sets out unacceptable conduct to ensure a respectful and harassment\u2011free experience for everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n

    2. Expected Behavior<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

    All participants should:<\/span><\/p>\n

    • Treat others with respect, kindness, and consideration<\/strong>, valuing diverse viewpoints and experiences <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Communicate openly and constructively<\/strong>, accommodating different perspectives <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Respect privacy<\/strong> \u2014 seek consent before photographing, recording, or sharing others\u2019 images or information <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Follow all event-related policies and local venue regulations<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      3. Unacceptable Behavior<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

        The following behaviours are strictly prohibited:<\/span><\/p>\n

        • Harassment, bullying or discrimination<\/span><\/strong> based on gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, age, body size or other protected characteristics <\/span><\/li>\n
        • Unwanted attention<\/span><\/strong> or advances\u2014physical, verbal, or sexual\u2014that create discomfort, including inappropriate contact or touching <\/span><\/li>\n
        • Disruptive behavior<\/span><\/strong> that interferes with sessions, workshops, or networking; this includes inappropriate interruptions or sustained distraction <\/span><\/li>\n
        • Offensive conduct or language<\/span><\/strong>, including the display or communication of discriminatory or explicit content <\/span><\/li>\n
        • Retaliation<\/span><\/strong> against individuals who report violations or support those who do<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          4. Reporting Violations<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
            <\/ol>\n

            If you experience or witness a violation:<\/span><\/p>\n

              \n
            • Contact designated conference staff<\/span><\/strong> immediately\u2014at the event, look for team members or volunteers with identifying badges or lanyards <\/span><\/li>\n
            • Reports may also be made via email or phone<\/strong> (details to be provided on the conference website, app, or informational materials) <\/span><\/li>\n
            • All reports will be treated confidentially and addressed promptly<\/strong>, with protection against retaliation emphasized<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              5. Consequences of Violation<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
                <\/ol>\n

                Steps organizers may take:<\/span><\/p>\n

                  \n
                • Issue verbal or written warnings<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
                • Require the participant to cease offending behaviour<\/strong> immediately.<\/span><\/li>\n
                • Expel<\/span><\/strong> the individual from the event (possibly without refund).<\/span><\/li>\n
                • Deny future participation<\/span><\/strong> in organizing partner conferences or sessions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Serious or repeated misconduct may also be escalated to the individual’s employer, institution, or relevant authorities if necessary<\/span><\/p>\n

                  By attending the event, all participants agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Support from registered participants\u2014volunteers, speakers, and sponsors\u2014is essential to maintaining a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone<\/span><\/p>\n

                  • Ensure the Code is prominently displayed<\/strong>\u2014on your website, conference app, printed materials, and during opening remarks <\/span><\/li>\n
                  • Appoint a response panel or conduct committee<\/strong> for reviewing reports and determining appropriate actions <\/span><\/li>\n
                  • Clarify how confidentiality<\/strong> will be maintained throughout the process <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    Communicate any right of appeal or review process, depending on the complexity and scale of your event<\/strong><\/p>\n
